Movie Review: W.

Absolutely brilliant. Filmmaking at it's finest. I was always concerned that Oliver Stone releasing this film a mere 3 weeks before the election was more of a partisan move than anything else - and nothing could be further from the truth.

A brutally honest and truly human portray of George Bush - the man, the son, the husband... and ultimately, the President. The story shows some harsh scenes of W's attempts to live up to his father's expectations, and in many cases coming up behind his brother Jeb.

The quality of acting is paramount. Just top notch. Josh Brolin should win an Oscar for this - he was absolutely spot on. Richard Dreyfus comes in as a close second as the dark, strong-willed Dick Cheney.

This is the kind of movie that can really reach out to lots of different ages, and get younger people interested in politics and about what is going on in the world around them.

Oliver Stone again shows his true talents, and this movie deserves some major recognition.

For those of us not totally up on every single issue, this offers an excellent lesson in the history of the last 8 years.

It comes off as being neither slanderous nor too easy on anyone, either. It's well-balanced, has some incredibly strong themes, and the acting is so good you want to watch it all over again.

Brilliant filmmaking from all involved. Go see it.
