Paul Frank store party

Man I love the Paul Frank Store.

Tonight they had their first "Paul Frank College Party" - I got an email last week and pretty much figured I had to go. It was so cool. It was 50% off everything except bikes at watches, so pretty awesome deal. There were free drinks and music, a DJ playing and so on!! It rocked!!

I got a weird fish shirt that rocks, a Paul Frank Julius Monkey pillow (awesome), a sock monkey made out of Paul Frank socks, and a bunch of stickers and pins they were giving away for free. It was really fun. Also super cool was as soon as I got to the counter, the girl said, "Hey, your hair is longer!" I told her I'd finally moved here from Canada and graduated finally. "Are you still working at Pixar?" she said!! Haha. Wow. I can't believe they remember me in that store!! I love that place!! The people who work there are really nice and I guess I must have gone in there a lot when I was an intern here, hehe amazing!!!!! Anyway we loved it, Matt Parrott and I went and then went to sit down at Sears for food but it was $25 a plate so we left and cheaped out and got Pizza followed by coffee. :) Good times.

Someone tonight gave me props for my cool shirt

Volleyball, Breakfast, Stardust, Ocean Beach

Yaron, Craig, Matt and I went downtown and met the other Waterloo guys for breakfast at a place called Mama's in North Beach and it was just as awesome as Yaron described. The lineup was only about 20 min which was very short compared to usual. Yaron said they once waited 1 hour 45 min for a table!! I had this really good chocolate French Toast and it rocked.

Then we went and met Jansen at the Asian Volleyball Tournament he was playing in (that's why he was in San Francisco this weekend), and that was great. We watched for a bit and met his friends so that was fun. Afterwards Matt and Craig and I went through Chinatown, got a Bubble Tea, then headed to the Bloomingdale's Mall and got some nice food at a place called "Out The Door." It was funny, they had exactly the same Ikea plates as I have at my apartment. :)

After that we went to see Stardust, which was absolutely hilarious!!!!!!!!!!! It was really funny, but also so cool and exciting and just awesome. It is quite a bit like the movie "The Princess Bride", and that sort of style of adventure mixed with comedy. It was great, and the cast was awesome. I really liked it.

After that we took a ridiculous bus ride home, after waiting for ages and then there were a bunch of rowdy kids and it was just insane. Kinda seems like a usual thing for the late night bus in San Francisco. Oh well. We ended up getting back eventually and so Craig and Matt came with me because there were no more CalTrains running and they stayed at my house again. So we had some more food, made some Nachos in the oven and watched some Simpsons and Mr. Show.

This morning we had some coffee and cereal with Kiwis and then headed off to Ocean Beach. We chilled there and took a few photos and then headed back to Safeway to get some groceries.

Once Craig and Matt headed back to Mountain View I was so tired from all the crazy guests over the weekend that I got home and slept for an hour! :) Then this evening I finally sorted out some paperwork I needed to do for work and for my apartment move-in stuff and it was great to finally take care of those things too. Good times.

So, a totally awesome long weekend, lots of guests and fun and seeing friends, and also got the apartment cleaned up nicely and got the couple of things done that I needed to do. Sweet.

Mmm... French Toast!!

Housewarming Party

On Saturday night I had my housewarming party!!!! It was sooooooooo awesome!!!!!!!

Lots of my Waterloo friends were here, along with a few old friends from Pixar and a bunch of their friends and a few new friends from LucasFilm too!! Awesome!! A couple of my neighbours showed up too! Jansen showed up too which rocked.

I got DVD racks and a wine rack (haha - "I don't even have one bottle of wine, let alone enough to warrant an entire rack!") from a dude on Craigslist earlier on Saturday so I could finally sort out my DVDs and move them off the futon. Then I did a bunch of organizing around the apartment and cleaning up so I could house a bunch of people here. I think there must have been about 20 people here so I had to get the place pretty clean and get some boxes packed away so people could actually fit in here.

I got a bunch of nice food prepared, some carrots and hummus dip, lots of different kinds of cheese (monterey jack, cheddar, havarti, smoked gouda) and a nice piece of brie too. Yaron and the other Waterloo boys brought some awesome Red Hawk cheese and Blue Cheese from the market, along with a baguette which was really helpful because I just had crackers. The food was definitely a hit. I had some Pepperidge Farm cookies and they must have been gone in the first 5 minutes. :) Someone brought some Oreos too. :) Frank was awesome, as he came and realized there wasn't a lot of Pop here so he went out and bought a bunch of ice and pop and plastic cups, that was awesome. At the end of the night, there were about 6 oreos left and otherwise all the food was totally gone. I think it was a big hit!! We had some nice wine and the Waterloo boys brought a nice big Mondavi white wine too so that was great.

We went up to the roof for a bit to cool off and check out the view of the city at night, and then jammed on the guitar for a while. A bunch of people left about 1am, and some more people left about 2am! Since Yaron, Matt and Craig were coming from Mountain View, they all slept over on the air mattress and futon, so that worked out well. They were already looking tired by the time everyone left at 2am so we were all asleep pretty quick. The party started and was going strong for about 5 or 6 hours... pretty sweet for the first party in my new apartment if you ask me!! :)

Anyway now for lots of photos of the awesome party! :)

The Office

I bet you thought this was going to be a post about that awesome show on NBC, eh?! :)

Actually, just a couple of photos of "the office", well actually photos from outside where I work and the view from the cafeteria and stuff, since we can't post photos from inside.

I toured Jansen and Fred and Fred's brother Matt around the office on Friday and they loved it. We saw some cool reels and trailers in the big, amazing theatre and checked out a bunch of old movie props and other awesome stuff.

Jansen is here!!!!!!!

So tonight was awesome, my buddy Jansen Sullivan, legend of OSSSA, 6 foot 5 Chinese Irish Canadian, and champion of basically everything from Physics to Breakdancing to chugging Guinness to traveling Australia to just being a fiend... is here is San Francisco!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jansen is here with the Asian volleyball team he coaches and so he is here for a tournament this weekend. I met him at his hotel and we hit up some In N' Out Burger, and then got some other random food and chilled out and chatted for like a good, solid 4 hours. Turns out we actually haven't hung out since when I LIVED IN TORONTO, which would have been December, 2004?!??!! That is insane. So it's been like 2 and a half years since I've seen the guy. That's nuts.

Anyway it was totally awesome to hang out and catch up on everything, and man that was awesome. I'm going to give Jansen and his buddy Fred a tour of LucasFilm tomorrow and they are pretty excited for that. I think Jansen can come to my party on the weekend too so that also rocks. Man, so many people are visiting San Francisco lately, this is awesome!! Great to have some of my Waterloo homeys up here now too.
