DMB show - Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View

Oh, it was super amazing.

First things first. Dave rode right past us on a bike!!!!!!!!

Dave on his "new red bike"
I had just walked by this gate at Shoreline and said "Wouldn't it be awesome if Dave came out of here right now?!". Not 2 SECONDS LATER he biked out on this red bike, grinning like he always does, saying "coming through!" Haha whhhhaaaaaaaat!! We were so surprised I didn't even realize it was him for a second. Crazy.

I've sortof lost track now, but I think this was my 21st Dave show... or somewhere around there!! It was super amazing as usual, and some particularly insane things like Stanley Jordan (a guest electric guitarist) just shredding that guitar with some absurd skill.

Boyd seemed a little more subdued than I've seen him before, but he really got to shine on classics like Ants Marching (which was AMAZING). Jeff and Rawshawn have really gotten an amazing mesh together since I first heard them playing together with DMB a few years ago, the sax and trumpet parts are so intertwined, and it just rocked. Carter, as usual, is totally outta-control amazing, playing drums like no one else on earth can. Ants Marching was an insane remix of it, some amazing bluesy riffs by Timmy and everyone just owning it so hard. I loved it. Best I've ever heard it.

The new songs were amazing and really loved their version of The Riff and Mercy. Dave was amazing as usual. Talkative at the beginning (going on and on about his new bike... same one as we saw him riding on earlier!), but then quieter and focused on the music mostly for the rest of the show. The guys must be tired from a long summer tour, this is the last show of the tour so what a way to knock it out.
