I feel bad for the PR people if this isn't a fake... but thankfully both sides of the road was blocked off so no one got hurt, which is good.
That aside... sweet holy crap, this is HILARIOUS. I really don't know if this is a publicity stunt or not, and no one is saying for sure if it is or not, but MAN this video is funny. So the Knight Rider car has been in Toronto for the whole week, this was the last day it was going to be in Toronto... and they take it off the truck and then someone off the sidewalk THROWS DOWN THEIR COFFEE, RUNS INTO THE CAR, AND PEELS OFF WITH IT!!!!!!!!! WHAT!!!!!!!!!! This is absurd!!!!!!! The video is really, really, reaaaaaally funny. I'm sorry, I probably shouldn't find this funny, but OH MAN!!!!!!!! :) hahaha I've been laughing for like 20 minutes straight.
Anyhoo, no one was hurt, and this may (or may not) be a publicity stunt, so take it with a grain of salt. But presuming this IS real, holy CRAP this is unexpected. I love the looks on everyone's face... "what? what's happening?! did someone just STEAL the car?!?!" hahahahahaha. Oh man!
The other REALLY cool thing about this is (if it is a publicity stunt), we are now in the age of personal digital cameras with video and cell phones with video ability... this means that by the nature of this kind of event, we have the scene shot from multiple angles. On the other hand, if this is real, then actually this is really solid evidence for an investigation, which is also good. Kindof an interesting thing both ways you look at it. If it's marketing, it's brilliant. If it's not, then at least there are multiple potential leads for the police. Totally crazy!!
