Siggraph 2008 Day 3: Computer Animation Festival

On Day 3 I headed to the convention center and met up with P. Cole, Ari, Alex, Noah and a bunch of others for lunch. We chilled out and chatted for a while and then I took off to check out the exhibition floor for a bit. I went to the LAIKA booth and they had some super cool stuff from Coraline, their new movie. Also lined up for a Renderman Teapot at the Pixar booth, the line was huge but they were giving out lots of teapots. They are "china teapot style" this year with a 20th Anniversary Logo on them. Very cool.

Then took off to the Computer Animation Festival, and watched some great artwork and company reels. Then back to the convention center and met up with a bunch of ILM people, got some food, and chatted about stuff we'd learned and also other people joined our table and we chatted about general industry stuff. It was totally amazing.

From there I dropped my stuff at the hotel and went back to the theatre for the Lucasfilm Clone Wars studio night!! It was fantastic, tons of great food and good people, and lots of interesting folks came to the event!! Awesome times. I got a sweeeeeeeeet Clone Wars shirt there that is totally amazing. From there I went to the University of Toronto party and... Jim Blinn and Ken Perlin were there?!?!?!!!! Totally geekin' out about that. Believe it or not Craig Kaplan from Waterloo was there too, along with my Toronto buddies. It was a great night of again, more chatting about industry trends and ideas, movies in general, and general socializing. LOVED it.
