Man, I love those Blue Bottle Cappucinos

Today we went to the market again and I got some of the best coffee in the world.

Since this glorious coffee place closes at 2pm every time we go, and since we all take so long to get out of the apartment on the weekends, we usually get there right before it closes. Today we (well, I) had to run. Run like a maniac. Across the street, towards the little coffee trailer, screaming "waiiit fooor me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Ok so it wasn't quite so theatrical, but I still wanted that coffee... and I wanted it bad. It was 1:52pm and we were just getting off the BART train. Come on guys, only 8 minutes left. Waiting for the stoplights on the busy San Francisco Embarcardero. 5 minutes left until 2pm. Come on green light, green light... green light!!!!!!!! Run. Run. Ruuuunnnnnnnnnnnnn.

I get there, panting, and join the line. 2 minutes later the Coffee dude who is dispensing this liquid gloriousness says, "Sorry folks, we're out of Coffee!"

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!

So I run to the other booth. Thankfully (and for some reason) they have 2 coffee serving stations at the market. I run. Run like the wind.

"Are you guys still open?" I ask in a hurried tone as I run up to Coffee stand #2.

"Ummm.. yeah sortof" the guy says. "What did you want?"

"A Cappuccino", I say.

"Sure, one moment", he says, and I hear the sweet sound of espresso and milk mixing in perfect harmony, made just for me. The secret to a relaxing and fantastic day.

Bill and Sarah come along a few minutes later, only to find that Coffee stand #2 just ran out of coffee too. The Coffee dude grins at me and says, "You got the last one." Sorry guys. I offer a few condolence sips of mine to show my friendship and respect for them, although they missed out in the coffee experience of the weekend.

Now, how is Cappuccino possibly THIS important? Why is it a make or break event for my entire weekend? You've had a million cups of coffee right, so how can this be any different than all that usual sludge, right? All Coffee tastes the same anyway...

Oh my friend. You have certainly not yet experienced the insane beautiful happy gloriousness of a Blue Bottle Coffee Co. cappuccino.

Let me put it this way. If Pixar was a coffee place instead of the best movie studio in the world, and if Dave Matthews Band was a coffee place instead of a fantastic uber-talented rockin' band, they would be the Blue Bottle Coffee Co. coffee stand at the San Francisco market.

This little quote from their website (http://www.bluebottlecoffee.net) should explain further:
...in Oakland, California, a slightly disaffected freelance musician and coffee lunatic, weary of the grande eggnog latte, and the double skim pumpkin-pie macchiato, decides to open a roaster for people who are clamoring for the actual taste of freshly roasted coffee. Using a minuscule six-pound batch roaster, he makes an historic vow: "I will only sell coffee less than 48 hours out of the roaster to my customers, so they may enjoy coffee at its peak of flavor. I will only use the finest organic, and pesticide-free, shade-grown beans. If they can't come to me, I will drive to their house to give them the freshest coffee they have ever tasted." In honor of Kolshitsky's heroics, he names his business The Blue Bottle Coffee Company, and begins another chapter in the history of superlative coffee.
So there you have it folks. I am just going to come right out and say it. Best Coffee I've ever had in the entire world.

Whew. I got my Cappuccino. The world is in balance again for 1 week.
